Yang Ming launches LNG dual-fuel container ship

Taiwanese container shipping company Yang Ming has launched a new LNG dual-fuel container vessel.

The 15,500-TEU YM Weight can run on both LNG and conventional marine fuels. Following delivery, the vessel will be deployed on services connecting Asia with the Mediterranean and North America, including Long Beach and Oakland.

Yang Ming has not disclosed further details about the vessel, including its shipbuilder.

Earlier this month, Yang Ming ordered six LNG dual-fuel container ships from South Korean shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean.
