Yang Ming places orders for seven LNG dual-fuel vessels

Taiwanese container shipping company Yang Ming has ordered seven LNG dual-fuel container ships from South Korean shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean.

These vessels will be equipped with engines capable of running on both LNG and conventional marine fuels. They are set for delivery between 2028 and 2029.

While the company has not yet shared deployment details, it stated that these ships—along with five similar LNG dual-fuel vessels scheduled for delivery starting in 2026—will help to ensure stable service on East-West trade routes. The five ships were ordered in 2023 from South Korea’s HD Hyundai Heavy Industries.
