The vessel, Hydromover 2.0, was launched by YGT’s marine electrification solution business, marinEV.

The vessel builds on the success of the 2023-launched Hydromover prototype – the first fully-electric cargo vessel in Singapore, YGT said.

Hydromover 2.0 has an advanced hull form that minimises drag, has a faster charging time, and has 25% more cargo capacity, the company said.

The vessel can be fully charged in under two hours, ensuring high uptime, YGT added.

“These improvements translate into a threefold increase in range that can cover all anchorages within Singapore’s port limits,” the green tech company claimed.

YGT has secured its first bareboat charter deals with UAE-based Yacht International UAE, the company said, adding that vessel deliveries to the UAE are scheduled for completion by mid-2026.

During the launch event, YGT, Yacht International UAE, and Wilhelmsen Port Services signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing the use of electric vessels in UAE ports.
