Subsea technology deals with all the technologies that are deployed below the sea surface.
This subsea project involves “the safe storage of larger volumes of fluids such as ammonia and other maritime e-fuels, enhanced oil recovery (EOR) chemicals and production chemicals,” ABS says.
The project has entered the final phase of testing, with the 200 cbm prototype subsea storage unit (SSU) enroute to NOV’s testing facility in Norway, where it will undergo large-scale tests later this summer.
The project is being jointly developed by ABS, NOV, Norwegian petroleum company Equinor, government agency Research Council of Norway and Scottish technology firm Net Zero Technology Centre.
