After a month of no orders in March, the methanol-fuelled orderbook has grown more and more, from nine vessels in April, to 12 in May and 29 in June.

The majority of the total 156 methanol-fuelled newbuild orders have been for container ships (104), followed by tankers (8) and offshore vessels (6).

DNV says that grey methanol is currently widely available, but that significant investments will be required to boost production and availability of green methanol.

Apart from methanol, 26 LNG-fuelled vessels were ordered in June, up from seven in May.
