Brazil’s ports are set to halt operations for 12 hours today as unions strike against proposed regulatory changes that threaten workers’ rights.

While cargo operations could face disruptions, bunkering activities are expected to remain stable, crucial for the country’s status as a major soybean exporter, a source said.
The proposed changes to labour rights will be presented to the country's legislative body on Wednesday, raising concerns among labour groups about potential impacts on job security.
This strike comes after recent labour tensions in the US, where ports along the East and Gulf coasts shut down for three days earlier this month during stalled contract negotiations.
