The RoRo vessel BYD Hefei is capable of operating on both LNG and conventional marine fuels. Built at the GSI shipyard in Guangdong, China, it is the first ship constructed by BYD as a shipowner.
Previously, BYD leased two LNG dual-fuel RoRo vessels, BYD Explorer No.1 and BYD Changzhou, from global ship operator Zodiac Maritime. These ships were built at the Yantai Raffles Shipyard in China.
Once operational, BYD Hefei will transport approximately 5,000 vehicles to Europe.
