The country's daily crude oil imports averaged 11.39 million b/d in October, down by a modest 1% from the previous month, JLC reported.

China's crude imports inched lower last month due to seasonal weakness in domestic fuel demand, JLC said.

The country’s crude imports are expected to decline in the final two months of the year due to seasonally weaker demand and limited crude import quotas for independent refiners, JLC added.

However, on a year-on-year comparison, China’s crude imports gained by 8.2% last month.

China has imported a total of about 471 million mt of crude in the first ten months of this year, about 3% higher than the corresponding period in 2024, according to JLC.
