US-based LNG supplier Clean Energy has completed the construction of its third production train at its liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant located in Boron, California in the US. The addition of a third production train has increased the plant's capacity by 50%, the company said.

An LNG production train comprises various components to process, purify, and convert natural gas to LNG.

With three operational production trains, Clean Energy notes that it is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for LNG in the maritime sector, particularly from US-based shipping company Pasha Hawaii.

It plans to channel the additional LNG output to power three new LNG-fuelled ships operated by Pasha Hawaii. These vessels are set to operate from key ports in the US, including Long Beach, Oakland and Honolulu.
