The company will use agricultural waste as feedstock to produce biomethanol at the Azerbaijani Port of Baku, according to John Kyung, chief executive of Plagen.

Baku is a container shipping port, located at the intersection of the modern Silk Road. It connects Europe, Asia and the Middle East through the Caspian Sea.

Plagen has partnered with Azerbaijan’s agricultural exporter Agrarco to source feedstock for the project. It has not yet specified a timeline.
