EU exports of maritime safety equipment to Russia will now require prior clearance.
The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) has been included in the EU list of state-owned enterprises subject to financial limitations.
In response to sanctions, RS said its operations will not be affected and it will continue to fulfill its obligations.
“RS will continue to render services aimed at the improvement of standards of safety of life at sea, the safety of navigation, safe carriage of goods by sea and in inland waters as well as at environmental pollution prevention," it said in a statement.
