Gen2 Energy and Provaris collaborate to develop hydrogen supply chain in Norway
The duo will evaluate the technical and economic viability of building a European hydrogen supply chain from Gen2 Energy's upcoming project in Afjord, Norway.

A prefeasibility study will be carried out by Norway's Gen2 Energy and Australia's Provaris. Major determinants in the hydrogen supply chain will be covered in the comprehensive study, including green hydrogen production and potential offtake parties.
The classification society ABS has previously granted Provaris approval in principle for two of its hydrogen carriers. These include the 26,000 cubic metre H2Neo, which Gen2 plans to utilize in the Afjord project.
"Green" hydrogen is made by splitting water with renewable electricity, giving it the potential to become a net-zero emission marine fuel.
Gen2 signed an agreement to lease 41 acres of land in the industrial area Monstad Havnemråde in Afjord for a large-scale green hydrogen production and shipping plant in December. The plant's size or intended green hydrogen output has not yet been made public.
