GLBP, a joint venture between Texas-based LNG company Pilot LNG and Seapath Group, a subsidiary of US conglomerate Libra Group, is expected to reach a final investment decision by mid-2025.
The project is located on the Texas City Ship Channel within the Texas City industrial area and will supply LNG by barge across the Houston-Galveston region. It will serve US ports including Port Houston, the Port of Galveston, and the Port of Texas City.
Planned in two phases, the project will have a total capacity of up to 720,000-gallons/day and will feature two storage tanks, each holding 3 million gallons.
LNG bunker deliveries are expected to begin in the second half of 2027, according to Pilot LNG’s chief development officer Shaun Davison.
