The 18,000 cbm capacity vessel will feature a dual-fuel propulsion system, allowing it to run on both LNG and conventional fuel oil. It will be equipped with two IMO-certified independent LNG tanks and can deliver its entire capacity in a single operation to LNG-fuelled ships.
Designed for ship-to-ship (STS) LNG bunkering, the vessel will be able to supply fuel directly at sea without docking.
“As global LNG demand and supply continue to grow, the LNG bunkering vessel market will see steady expansion,” HJSC’s chief executive, Yoo Sang-cheol, said.
However, the company has not disclosed any details regarding the vessel’s delivery date or where it will be deployed.
