GreenVoyage2050 is a partnership project between the Government of Norway and International Maritime Organization (IMO) launched in May 2019. The project seeks to rein in global shipping emissions by creating National Action Plans (NAPs) for member countries.

The IMO has encouraged countries to develop and submit their NAPs to help achieve at least 40% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and 70% by 2050, compared to 2008.

In the roundtable, Finland, India, Norway, and Singapore shared their experiences of creating NAPs, which involve development of policies to reduce emissions, training and identifying opportunities for pilot projects.

The GreenVoyage2050 team will host its next roundtable in Belize on 19 July.
