With a capacity of 16,000 TEUs, this vessel is the first of 18 ships to be delivered between 2024 and 2025.

The Ane Maersk is set to embark on its first journey using green methanol. It will operate between Asia and Europe, and its operations will begin on 9th February. The vessel will make stops at ports in Shanghai, Tanjung Pelepas, Colombo and Hamburg. Its first destination will be Ningbo, China. This will be the second container vessel in the world to use methanol, with the first being Maersk's container feeder vessel Laura Maersk.

“With Ane Maersk and her sister vessels we are expanding our offer to the growing number of businesses aiming to reduce emissions from their supply chains,” said the CEO of A.P. Moller-Maersk Vincent Clerc.

Maersk is working on developing sourcing and bunkering solutions for its entire methanol-enabled vessel fleet by 2024-2025.
