MOL takes delivery of LNG-powered car carrier
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has taken delivery of a new LNG-powered car and truck carrier, the Turquoise Ace, from Imabari’s Tadotsu Shipyard in Japan.

The Turquoise Ace, measuring nearly 200 meters in length and 38 meters in width, can carry up to 7,000 cars. It is equipped with an LNG main engine from German manufacturer MAN Energy Solutions and is designed to use boil-off gas from its LNG fuel tank.
The ship is classified by ClassNK and will sail under the Panama flag.
Data from DNV’s Alternative Fuels Insight platform indicates a rise in LNG-powered vessels. By 2028, there will be 1,058 LNG-powered ships operating worldwide, up from the current 559, DNV data shows.
