These two new cruise ships will be a part of MSC Cruises’ World Class series with delivery scheduled for 2026 and 2027 respectively, MSC Cruises and Chantiers de l'Atlantique jointly said.
Both ships will be equipped with shore power capability, allowing them to connect to an onshore power supply.
They will be methanol-ready as well, meaning that the vessels will likely run on LNG or conventional marine fuels from when they are delivered, until they are converted to be able to consume methanol.
MSC Cruises’ World Class series currently comprises of MSC World Europa, an LNG-powered vessel which was delivered in 2022, and MSC World America, to be delivered in 2025. The French shipbuilder has built 18 ships for MSC Cruises so far.
