Port of South Louisiana invites bids for methanol bunker barge
The US port of South Louisiana has issued a call for bids from contractors and suppliers to construct a methanol bunkering barge with a capacity of 28,900 bbl.

The methanol bunkering barge, to be certified by the US Coast Guard (USCG), is designed to load at 6,000 bbl/hr and discharge at either 1,000 gallons/min to a single vessel or 500 gallons/min each to two vessels simultaneously.
The project is partially funded through a US Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant under the Build Back Better Regional Challenge, and forms part of the H2theFuture initiative to establish a clean hydrogen cluster in South Louisiana.
The last date for bid submission is 28 August.
