Red Sea: Houthi missiles hit bulk carrier
Iran-aligned Houthi forces launched five missiles in the Red Sea yesterday, three of which struck a bulk carrier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.

The Yemen-based militants struck M/V Laax, a Marshall Island-flagged, Greek-owned and operated bulk carrier, with three anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBM), CENTCOM reported.
The vessel is continuing its voyage despite the attack, CENTCOM said.
Separately, the US naval forces destroyed five uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) over the Red Sea that were launched from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen yesterday.
UAS and ASBMs are drones that the Houthis have been using to attack commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
These repeated attacks in the Red Sea have raised geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and fueled humanitarian concerns in the global maritime industry.
“The Houthis’ reckless actions are putting innocent lives at risk, disrupting the delivery of urgently needed humanitarian aid to those who need it most, increasing the cost of this humanitarian assistance, and destabilising the region,” the International Maritime Organization’s Maritime Safety Committee said in its latest resolution.
