Singapore bio-bunker sales plunge in April, LNG sales rise
Singapore sold approximately 3,700 mt/day of bio-bunkers in April, a sharp decline from around 4,700 mt/day recorded in March, according to preliminary figures from the port authority.

Changes in Singapore alternative fuel sales between March and April:
- Bio-VLSFO sales down from 94,000 mt to 76,000 mt
- Bio-HSFO sales down from 52,000 mt to 33,000 mt
- Bio-LSMGO sales up from nil to 1,200 mt
- Bio-ULSFO sales up from nil to 700 mt
- B100 sales up from nil to 300 mt
- LNG sales up from 39,000 mt to 42,000 mt
Singapore’s bio-blended bunker sales dropped by 24% in April, following a record high in March. Total sales reached 111,000 mt in April, down from 146,000 mt in the previous month.
Of this, approximately 76,000 mt was VLSFO blended with a bio component—typically 24% in Singapore—while 33,000 mt was HSFO with a bio blend. Bio-blended LSMGO and ULSFO accounted for the remainder, at 1,200 mt and 700 mt, respectively.
However, total biofuel bunker sales for the first four months of the year reached 471,000 mt, nearly three times higher than the 187,000 mt recorded during the same period last year.
Meanwhile, LNG bunker sales increased for the second consecutive month. The average stem size rose significantly by 141 mt to 1,400 mt. Total LNG bunker sales for the January–April period stood at nearly 144,000 mt, up from 112,000 mt during the same period last year.
B100 (100% biofuel) appeared in the sales data for the second time this year, following February, with around 300 mt sold. No methanol bunker sales have been recorded so far this year.
