The deal, signed through SK Gas’ subsidiary Eco Marine Fuel, will see the company deliver LNG to Hyundai Glovis’ dual-fuel car carriers, while SK Gas takes charge of building up LNG fuel supply infrastructure.
Hyundai Glovis has been steadily growing its fleet of LNG dual-fuel pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs), starting with five vessels introduced last year. By 2028, the company expects to operate more than 30 such ships.
Together with SK Gas, Hyundai Glovis aims to establish a solid base for LNG bunkering in southeastern ports, particularly Ulsan, which records the highest frequency and volume of refuelling for its domestic PCTC operations.
“Securing LNG fuel and refueling routes are prerequisites for the smooth operation of these vessels, which is why we have decided to collaborate,” a Hyundai Glovis representative explained.
