According to French engineering company Technip Energies, the floating vessel has been designed to capture up to 20,000- 40,000-cbm of carbon dioxide (CO2) from offshore sites.
The captured CO2 will be stored and liquefied onboard the floating vessel. Afterwards, it will be transported to onshore locations for further use or injected into geological reservoirs for permanent storage.
Meanwhile, the company has not stated whether its floating facility can capture CO2 from ships.
