Tsuneishi Shipbuilding delivers methanol dual-fuel bulk carrier

Japan’s Tsuneishi Shipbuilding has delivered a methanol dual-fuel bulk carrier named Brave Quest.

The vessel has a gross tonnage of 45,500 (GT) and belongs to the Kamsarmax class — a category designed to meet the maximum size limits for entry into Kamsar Port in the Republic of Guinea. It can operate on both methanol and conventional marine fuels.

Brave Quest was built at Tsuneishi Shipbuilding’s Philippine yard, Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (CEBU). The company has not disclosed details regarding the vessel’s owner or its intended area of deployment.

The global fleet of methanol-capable vessels currently stands at 118, with an additional 329 vessels expected to be delivered by 2030, according to DNV data.
