UAE’s ministry bans three bunker barges over “serious violations”

June 2, 2022

UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has banned vessels owned, operated and managed by Warm Seas Development and Victoriam Ship Management with immediate effect.

According to a circular published by UAE's ministry on 30 May, the companies are banned from providing marine services to any ship in UAE. The ban was enforced amid serious violations of UAE laws, Maritime convention and customs, stated UAE’s ministry.

The ban include three barges; Panama-flagged Maximus and Malta-flagged Atticus and Amelia. Last month, bunker barge Atticus was seen used by one bunker supplier to deliver stems in UAE’s Dubai and Jebel Ali port.

The three barges going offline in Fujairah are unlikely to make any huge difference or delays in bunker deliveries as the port has sufficient barges, a trader says.

UAE’s ministry has not specified the details of the violation.
