The methanol auxiliary engines will be delivered to Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering and Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering. These shipyards are currently constructing five 24,000 TEU container ships for COSCO and seven vessels for Orient Overseas Container Line. These vessels are expected to commence operations by 2026.

Unlike the ship's main engine, an auxiliary engine is specifically designed to power onboard equipment and systems, rather than for propulsion purposes.

Each vessel will be equipped with five auxiliary engines, consisting of three eight-cylinder and two six-cylinder configurations.
